2010 Hasbala Lodge Teport
2011 was a trying year for many people in many countries but we managed to get up to the lodge with old friends and family and we did get to meet some new friends as well. We understand how difficult times have become for so many families and we feel that we are truly blessed to be able to spend some time each summer at Hasbala Lake Lodge. Once again we only kept the lodge open for a very short time last season but we did get a chance to make new friends that we will never forget. The remote Northern experience is a wonderful place to get to know our new guests each season and make friends that will never be forgotten!
Next season will not be much different for us, we plan to open the lodge but we will keep the guests to a limited number. We like it best when the number of guests in camp is small and we get a chance to know new friends.
The fishing was great as always and each season we find that the areas that have not been explored hold fish, fun and excitement. The Grayling fishing in the river seems to be better each year and as always the pike and trout are a blast to catch. The fly fishing has become something that I look forward to more and more and 2011 gave me some great battles both in the river and on the lake.
Wildlife in the Area
Wildlife in the area did not let us down last summer. The usual suspects were present and we had a new family of Canadian Geese that surprised us. Mom and Dad did not stay around but the young ones came right up to the boat and posed for photos. It is such a joy to see and be near this wildlife, these are things that most people will never get to enjoy, we are the lucky ones! We hope that you have the opportunity to visit Northern Canada in 2012 and beyond. Weather it is to see the Monument of the 4 corners of the provinces of Nunavut, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories, or to see the spectacular wildlife and bird life. Or to catch more fish than you have ever imagined and the chance to catch a trophy, we know you will enjoy your stay! Hasbala Lake Lodge offers all of the above and we hope you take the time to check out our web site to understand the natural beauty, clean crisp air and good times that can be a new “favorite memory” for you.

We wish all of our existing friends and friends we don’t know yet a wonderful and prosperous 2012.
With all of the upheaval in the world today it is nice to know there are still some spots where one can spend time and just enjoy those you love and the life we are meant to live.
We hope that you can get away from it all this season and that you get a chance to see our earth from the Northern Canadian perspective, you won’t regret one moment of it!!
Remote Fishing At It's Best
So if your idea of fishing is being on a lake where there are no other lodges, and the fishing is like you remember from when you were young, Hasbala Lake Lodge is the place to fish. If you want to fish in a place where you can be the first guy on the lake each day and the last guy off, and you won't see another human being except your group and a few of us until the float plane shows up the following week to take you back to reality, come fish with us. We do not catch trophy fish every cast but we do have some big fish. We never sell or promise anyone that they will catch their dream but we have never had anyone leave that has not been satisfied with our lodge, our cooking, or our fishing. We have good guides that know fishing and know how to take good care of their clients. We are a very small family owned lodge and our beds are comfortable, the food is good and the fishing is some of the best in the North.
