Welcome to Hasbala Lake.

The 09 fishing season did not work out the way we planned. Winter stayed late and Ed and I had a few problems getting to camp so as a result we had to cancel our season.

We drove up this season instead of flying and we will never make that mistake again. It’s a long drive and the airports are a much better and friendlier place to enter Canada!

I apologize to the guests that did not get to go fishing this season and hopefully you will return to fish at Hasbala next season.

When I purchased the lodge my intentions were to run the place as a lodge for a few years and once my brothers and I are of retirement age we plan to “just go fishing as a family”. For now I am still planning on running the lodge next season but am giving serious consideration to just going fishing with family and friends from then on.

I love the Northern Saskatchewan fishing experience and even if I did not have a lodge in the north I would make a trip up each year to enjoy the peace and quiet, the extreme fishing and the wonderful wildlife we see each season.

Next season we will open on or about the middle of June so that we can allow all of the ice to melt so the float planes can get us into camp.

Remember that no one fished the waters at Hasbala Lake this season so the fish will have another year to grow and have not been bothered by fishermen. Even though we are a catch and release lake there are some losses so those have been avoided this season.

As always, I know you have a choice for your fishing vacation but if you want a small personal remote lodge, with great guides, a great cook and a fun crew Hasbala Lake Lodge is the place for your next northern fishing vacation.

Please keep us in mind for your 2010 fishing trip!!
