Hasbala Lake Lodge Home

As of Sept 15th of 2007 my brothers and I have purchased Hasbala Lake Lodge from Mo Miller. We have fished with Mo at Hasbala for the last 3 years and I can tell you that everything in the web site is in Mo’s words, and it is all TRUE!!!

We have grown to respect Mo as he is our mentor, he is a great guy and we hope he comes up to stay once and awhile. We have also grown to love Hasbala Lake Lodge, the guests, the guides, the fishing and the entire North experience! The wildlife is always exciting; the weather is usually great, although you and I both know that when you are that far north, anything can happen with the weather. That is part of the experience of visiting the north.

We have plans to do some upgrades to the lodge but our promise will remain much the same as Mo’s has always been, and we keep our promises, just as Mo has done with his guests in the past.

We will make you as comfortable as possible, we will give you the service you deserve, and the guides will continue to put you on the fish day after day as these guys really know their stuff. It is true; Hasbala Lake Lodge has consistent fishing day after day.
The guests do not catch a Trophy fish on every cast, but in the 3 years we have fished the lake we have seen and caught many Trophy fish year after year.

Hasbala Lake Lodge will never serve fine French cuisine, although we may share a good bottle of wine once and awhile. We will give you a clean comfortable room or cabin, the food will be good and the fishing, well that will speak for itself!!

We will start a boat replacement program this year, which will allow us to move some of our existing boats to the new lakes Mo speaks of in the News Letter.
I was lucky enough to fish one of those lakes last year and it was fishing at its best.

I want to thank Mo Miller for his great 2007 Newsletter and if you have not had a chance to read it please take the time. Mo is a natural writer and should write a book!

I want to assure all of Mo’s previous guests that we want to earn your trust just as Mo did. We have sent in new pressure treated lumber for the new dock and will go in early next year to build the new dock and spruce the place up to make your 2008 trip the best ever. Our first upgrade will be the beds, I know I want to be comfortable and I want you to be as well!

If you have not fished Hasbala Lake Lodge you owe it to yourself to try us in 2008, if you do, you will be back!!
Remember, Hasbala Lake Lodge is a catch and release lake with barb less hooks that is one of the reasons for the great fishing. The other reason is that Mo has always taken great care of the fishery and he is so very right, the guests need to be catching all sizes of fish.

If you are a fly fisherman you will love Hasbala Lake Lodge. Harry Baker and John Romack can attest to that. I personally watched Harry battle a 44 inch Northern for quite awhile on his fly rod and he finally got him to the boat. He was grinning from ear to ear, he was hooked…Harry that is!!

We look forward to getting to know all of you,

Ron Opatril
